Kings Sign Goaltender Cristobal Huet

El Segundo, CA - The Los Angeles Kings have agreed to terms on a two-year contract with goaltender Cristobal Huet, Kings Senior Vice President/General Manager Dave Taylor announced today. Per club policy, terms of the agreements were not announced.

Huet, 26, played in 38 games for Lugano of the Swiss league, posting a 20-14-4 record with a 2.78 goals-against average and four shutouts. In addition, he appeared in three games for France at the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City where he went 0-2-1 and had a 3.36 goals-against-average. The native of St. Martin D'Heres, France, was drafted by the Kings in the seventh-round (214th overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.

The Kings are scheduled to open their 2002-03 training camp at the HealthSouth Training Center in El Segundo, CA on Thursday, Sept. 12. The club's first on-ice practice will be Friday, Sept. 13.
